The RLA Test Topics

Reasoning through Language Arts is comprised of three sub-topics:

The entire GED Language Arts test takes 150 minutes to complete. There is a 10-minute break between sections two and three, and a written essay (also called the extended response) lasting 45 minutes.  The test is made up of various question types including drag-and-drop types of questions, multiple choice and selecting an area and dropping down.

How To Prepare

There are numerous ways to prepare for the RLA test. There are many English study guides online. Some are paid for and others are free. These study guides will help you get familiarized with what you can expect on the GED English test.

As a beginner it might be best to go with an online class. An online class is especially ideal if you’re not capable of attending in person. One of the best online classes is the Essential Education platform for GED.

The yearly license gives you ample time to adequately prepare for your English exams. Once you feel confident that you have learned enough and have a lot of knowledge on the subject it is time to take the English practice test. This is also called the GED Ready test.
